To be a successful online learner, it is important that you take an active role in the discussion process. You are encouraged to participate in the weekly discussion to increase the learning process. It is appropriate to plan on the following discussion board participation:
- Students are required to post a total of three discussion posts. Your initial discussion post is due no later than 11:59 pm Central time on the 3rd day of each week. Two additional posts are required throughout the week, but must be posted no later than the last day of the week at 11:59 pm Central time to meet the discussion post requirements. Therefore, each student should have a minimum of three posts. These posts will allow other students the opportunity to review and respond, as well as learn from your discussion thread post.
Please note: Post any questions you have about the work or assignments to the Virtual Office. Any questions you have about a school-related issue, but that does not concern this week’s work or this week’s material, should be posted in the Virtual Office. Issues that are more personal in nature, and that should not be communicated to the class as a whole, can be sent to me via email.

All of us have experienced some type of GI system disorder or discomfort at some point in our life!
This is a good system to practice the use of the suffix -itis.
Almost every organ in the GI System can be affected by some type of -itis disorder! Choose one “-itis” disorder in the GI system and tell the class about it. Be sure to research accurate information and use accurate terminology.
The treatment of your chosen disorder might involve the suffixes -scope or -scopy; or in some cases -ostomy or -ectomy. Please use these in your Discussion if applicable.
