Due to scarce resources in the Third World, nuclear energy seems to be the best viable option. The developed countries, however, are trying to prevent the transfer of nuclear technology to the Third World. The developing countries consider this attitude to be one of technological imperialism.

(a) Do you agree that Third World nations should be denied access to nuclear technology?

(b) What alternative sources of energy would you recommend for Third World countries instead of nuclear technology? Justify your choices.
