Cell Division

During cell division, a cell called normoblast is made which continues to produce hemoglobin creating a red color. Do red blood cells always contain a nucleus? How does cytoplasm come into play during cell division?

Please include both the anatomical (structural) and physiological (functional) consequences (results) of the anucleate nature of mature RBCs.

I will need credible reference for the answers
