One hundred cases of Campylobacter jejuni infection were reported in Holmes County last July. In the previous July, less than ten cases were reported. The majority of the cases were found in children who had attended Camp Sunny Days, where the activities included swimming in the pool and the lake, canoeing, and an overnight backpacking trip where camp counselors prepared a barbecue chicken dinner for the campers.
