What is your opinion on the subject?

Vaccines are generally considered to be the most successful public health intervention ever devised, and yet there have been opponents of vaccines ever since there have been vaccines.  Many people often spread misinformation about the vaccine, such as the notion that vaccines weaken the immune system and that children can develop autism after getting vaccinated. What is your opinion on the subject? Please provide your input.

From a communication perspective, what might be the reason Jim, the Pharmacy Manager declined to work with Nurse Lane?

Debra Lane, the nurse manager of a 77-bed medical-surgical unit, is negotiating with the pharmacy to deliver medications earlier in the morning. The clinical nurses are unable to schedule procedures in a timely manner, complete all required treatments, and medicate clients on time because of late pharmacy delivery. Nurse Lane has scheduled a meeting with the pharmacy manager, James. She determined ahead the exact time required for timely delivery and proper client medication delivery. She also did some brainstorming with her nurses to identify other options that might solve the problem. Because this issue is so important it will be difficult for Nurse Lane to back down on the need that medications be delivered earlier. When Nurse Lane meets with the Jim, the pharmacy manager, she clearly states the problem and asks for input from his perspective. Jim tells her that he cannot change the time schedule because he will upset his workers and their organization. While Nurse Lane empathizes with him she reiterates that for quality care, it is essential to administer medications in a timely fashion. Nurse Lane offers to work with him in analyzing delivery times to help develop a different schedule that meets everyone’s needs. Jim, the pharmacy manager finally says. “Sorry Debra this is your problem, not mine”.

Share the following:

  1. From a communication perspective, what might be the reason Jim, the Pharmacy Manager declined to work with Nurse Lane?
  2. What went wrong in this communication? What might Nurse Lane do differently to change his perspective?
  3. What approach should Nurse Lane take next in her negotiations with the Pharmacy Manager to move toward interdisciplinary collaboration?

Write a 350- to 700-word memo to a stakeholder (supervisor, care team, patient, etc.) describing the situation and requesting specific services for your afflicted patient

■ Mrs. Simpson, age 56, comes to the clinic for her yearly routine physical examination. She asks you about receiving the vaccine for shingles that she heard about on television. She thought she should get it because her sister had shingles a year ago. Mrs. Simpson stated that her sister really suffered with the disease, and she does not want to have that same experience. What can you tell her about the vaccine? Is she a candidate for Zostavax®? Who should receive the vaccine? Where can she find more information about this vaccine?

Imagine the subject of the selected case study is a patient of your health care organization.

. Your memo should:

  • Describe the disease that afflicts your patient.
  • Based on the disease and stage it presents in your patient, what level (primary, secondary, or tertiary) of care does the patient require?
  • Identify predisposing factors that can lead to the disease.
  • Describe what impact this disease has on the community/society and health care resources and services.
  • Identify 2 reliable sources where more information regarding the identified disease can be found.
  • Reliable sources include trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, a textbook, or other sources of similar quality.
  • Cite your sources according to APA guidelines.

Note: Clearly identify your stakeholder in the To section of your memo.

Format your memo and references according to APA guidelines.

Discuss the Ashford University institutional outcomes and the program outcomes by identifying their relevance to a profession in psychology.

Psychology homework help

Prior to completing this assignment, read the Ashford University Institutional Outcomes located on the Syllabus page for this course. Additionally, read the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Program Outcomes (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (pg. 248) https://www.ashford.edu/catalog-online-undergraduate-programs.htm#catalog11900

located within the Online Undergraduate Programs section of the Ashford University 2013-2014 Academic Catalog.

After reviewing the information provided above, you will create a two- to three-page case study focusing on professional and personal scenarios (they can be real or hypothetical) in which you evaluate your learning as it contributes to the overall attainment of Ashford University’s institutional outcomes and the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program outcomes.

In the body of your paper:

Discuss the Ashford University institutional outcomes and the program outcomes by identifying their relevance to a profession in psychology.

Create one personal life example and one career example in which you (or a fictitious person) struggle with personal challenges and an ethical dilemma (e.g., a client or research subject reveals compromising information about a friend or family member who also happens to be someone you know in a personal/social context).

After identifying the problem, include a section wherein you address each of the following prior to making a decision about a course of action:

From your point of view, what is the problem?

From the point of view of other individuals, what is the problem?

What are the options? What are potential consequences of the options?

What are the risks of each potential solution?

What are the risks of not resolving the challenges effectively?

What evidence/data do you have to assist you in decision making?

Apply the competencies gained at Ashford University (from the institutional and program outcomes) to identify the preferred resolutions to the situations you identified in #2 above. Select at least three competencies that are most relevant to your scenarios. Be specific in your discussion of the scenarios and provide details demonstrating professional problem solving in your case study.

Conclude the case study with how you resolved the problem (the outcome) and what you learned while at Ashford University that assisted you in deciding on an effective resolution. You may also identify additional competencies used to resolve the problem that are not included in the institutional and program outcomes.

Utilize at least one scholarly source as a basis for the evidence you will use to rationalize the decision-making process. All sources must be documented in APA style, as outlined by the Ashford Writing Center.

In the past, a one-cause approach was more accepted to understanding psychopathological behavior. Today, it is more accepted that there are multiple causes that can explain the development of mental illness.

For this Assignment, you will compare and contrast the early ways of thinking about psychological disorders to today’s current view and explain the multi-dimensional model and the major approaches (theorized causes) of mental illness.

Explain what early thoughts and beliefs existed about what caused mental illness.

Describe one of the psychological traditions and how it furthered the beliefs about what causes mental illness from that of the early beliefs by the Greeks and from Religions. Select from: Freud’s theory of the unconscious, humanism, or behaviorism.

Explain the idea of a multi-dimensional approach and how it differs from a single approach to understanding the major causes of mental illness.

Last, referring directly to the textbook, provide an overview of the major approaches of a multi-dimensional integrated model listed in the textbook. For each major approach, include its central tenant(s) as it relates to the explanation (or cause) of mental illness. The major approaches that provide an explanation or cause for the development of mental illness are biological approach (genetics and neurological factors), psychological approach (cognitive and behavioral factors, including the unconscious), emotions approach, social and cultural approach, and the developmental approach. For example, from the biological approach, an imbalance of neurochemicals is believed to influence (or cause) behavioral changes as well as heritability.

Explain the differences between the ethical standards for clients being treated by psychologists in counseling sessions and the standards for conducting psychological research with human participants.

Psychology homework helpeport Issue

Explain the differences between the ethical standards for clients being treated by psychologists in counseling sessions and the standards for conducting psychological research with human participants.

Section 8 include guidelines for psychologists when conducting research while section 10 includes guidelines for psychologists to follow during therapy sessions. Informed consent is present within each standard, however clients participating in research are consenting to participate in the research and are informed about the research being conducted while clients receiving therapy are agreeing to receive the treatment involved including the responsibility to pay as well as the therapist’s role in therapy. Participants are consenting to participate in the full extent of the research and not withdrawal, whereas counseling sessions are aimed to help the individual find healing leading to fewer counseling sessions. Although the purpose of conducting the research may include a variety of reasons, research is done to gain more knowledge while therapy is done to implement strategies that aims to improve the health and well-being of the client.

Consider your future career in the field of psychology and describe the parts of the Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.you expect to relate directly to your future career.

In my future career as a Guidance Counselor, there are several sections that are directly related to this career. These include Section2: Competence, Section 3: Human Relations, Section 4: Privacy and Confidentiality, Section 6: Record Keeping and Fees, Section 7: Education and Training, and Section 9: Assessments (American Psychological Association, 2010). While most of the sections in some way relate to my future career, these are the most closely related. It is essential to provide services and conduct duties that are within the scope of my competence. This is based on a number of factors including my education, training, and experience. Human Relations principles are essential to follow as it is important to refrain from harassing others including sexual harassment, discrimination, while avoiding harm to others and maintaining professional relationships. Keeping records and information private including storing and disposing information as well as maintaining confidentiality is also critical. Ongoing education and training is significant in the role of Guidance Counselor. This includes continuously striving to gain knowledge that will assist in helping students succeed while growing personally and professionally. As a Guidance Counselor, there may be times when the use of assessments will be necessary. I must ensure that the assessments used are appropriately and directly relates to the purpose for which it is being used.

Select and provide the number for one ethical requirement that applies specifically to psychological research and briefly summarize the standard. Explain why this requirement may not apply to a therapy situation.

Section 8.04 discusses individuals participating in research. When research is being conducted, it is essential that appropriate steps are taken to ensure participants participating in the research do not encounter any adverse effects and refrain from withdrawing (American Psychological Association, 2010). If the research is required as part of a course, alternative options must be offered. Although in therapy sessions, the psychologist aims to ensure no harm or adverse effects are done to the patient, the goal of conducting the research is to gain more knowledge. Attempting to keep participants from withdrawing is to aim at completing the entire experiment and receive the most data that will contribute additional information when evaluating the results. This would be different in a therapy situation as the goal of therapy is to enhance the individual’s health and well-being, eventually leading to reduced or no longer needing therapy. Therapy may be mandated and therefore there may not be an alternative option. For example, if therapy is court ordered, there may be no alternative options.
