Task Analysis assignment

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for the student to demonstrate task analysis in areas of occupation, performance skills, performance patterns, activity demands, context(s) and environments. As a result, the student will be able to initiate formulating an intervention plan. The activity should be goal directed and provide a “just right” challenge.

Instructions: Use the OT Practice Framework and the following case study to complete this assignment: Your client is a 50 y/o female with severe RA ( rheumatoid arthritis A chronic inflammatory disorder affecting many joints, including those in the hands) . She has difficulty managing clothing fasteners and performing home management tasks due to multiple joint contractures in both hands and inability to make a full fist. Paper must be 4-5 pages, not including a cover page and reference page. Due day: Sunday, week 2.

Section I:

List the following tasks in order of difficulty from easier to harder. Provide a 1-2 sentence rationale for ordering each task the way you did, including any adaptive equipment the participant may be utilizing to complete the task.

  1. Making and eating Hard-boiled eggs
  2. Donning a shirt
  3. Donning shoes
  4. Feeding her pet
  5. Applying makeup
  6. Bathing
  7. Rollerblading
