Responds to question Week 7 D-2

Give at least a detailed explanation.

Not too long ago, the media was consumed by the story of a young woman who moved to Oregon to take advantage of the “Death with Dignity Act”. Oregon is 1 of 5 states that has this law and it is an end-of-life option for mentally competent, terminally ill patients with a prognosis of six months or less to live. It enables the use of prescription medication from a physician that is self-ingested and ends the dying process if it becomes unbearable. I have attached an article link regarding this case. After you review it, take a moment and reflect on it. Does this change your view on working with terminally ill clients? If she were your client, how might your react to her wishes? How might you help her family, who may feel powerless over her decision, find acceptance?
