If your future career could look like anything in the world, what would it look like?

In addition, Dalio discusses our barriers:

· The ego barrier: Acknowledging weaknesses.

· The blind spot barrier: When someone believes they can “see” everything.

Using the premise of the principles and the barriers he shares, as well as the knowledge you have attained throughout your program, reflect on and discuss the following:

· If your future career could look like anything in the world, what would it look like?

· Using this vision, develop one or more goals (Dalio’s Step 1).

· Identify what specific psychological knowledge will need to be featured on self-promotion materials to support your goal.

· Next, follow Dalio’s steps 2 to 4 for success.

· Identify what problems stand in your way of achieving your goals.

· Identify the root causes of the problems.

· Design a plan to eliminate the problems.

· Lastly, discuss your thoughts about executing your plan (Step 5): What concerns do you have? What things have you accomplished that will support you in this execution?

If my future career could look like anything in the world, what would it look like is something I have been thinking about lately especially since I am coming to the end of school. I see myself helping people and counseling them and helping families to heal but I am not sure where I want to take my Psychology degree as of yet.

Looking at this vision right now and my first goal will be to come up with a plan and figure out what exactly it is that I would like to do. My goal is to finish my Bachelor’s in Psychology and figure out if I am going to pursue a master’s in Psychology or not and another goal would be to develop a plan and execute the plan.

Some specific psychological knowledge that I have to promote myself is that I am very self-confident with knowing that I can do anything that I put my mind. When I do set goals, I adhere to them and execute them all while still creating more goals to achieve. I have excellent interpersonal skills that will help build relationships all while accomplishing my goals.

One problem that stands in my way of achieving my goals is the fear of the unknown. Time management and procrastination is also standing in my way at this point in my life.

The root that causes some of the problems is that although I am very confident and I know that I can do anything that I put my mind to, I have so many things that I am doing right now as far as working two jobs and attending school. I feel like there is no enough hours in a day to get everything that I need to get done. I have to do better at fining the balance and doing it better that I have been doing. I need to stop putting things off until the last minute. I need to get rid of some distractions and really focus on my career and what exactly I would like to do.

My first plan of action is to set goals and adhere to the goals that I set for myself. I need to set goals and don’t let anything deter me from accomplishing my goals. I need to really get more focused so I know which direction that I would like to go after completion of my degree.

Some concerns that I have is knowing how to get over the fear of the unknown and getting out of my own way. I have the confidence but sometimes doubt myself at times. I sometimes overthink things and make things more difficult than they have to be. Some things that I have accomplished that will support me in this execution is by cutting out some extracurricular activities out and trying to focus more.
