Statement of Purpose
I seek to further my education in the general dentistry field. In my experience while treating patients, I have discovered that some dental diseases like fluorosis and discoloration could not be treated using standard procedures. I plan to research these ailments and apply the proper treatment to these cases. With the knowledge that I hope to gain from this program, I will apply to my work and also share with my colleagues in my home country. I endeavor to establish and grow in this field by enhancing the treatment in the hospital where I will be practicing and other dental clinics throughout my country.
In my country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), education in dental health is extremely low among the public. Through participation in this program, I aim to remedy this problem through comprehensive professional dental care and patient education. I want to utilize the lab work and clinical training to justify my expertise. The lab sessions and clinical work offered by the program will be utilized to improve my skills and overcome any setbacks in treatment rationale. By realizing the differences between exceptional and substandard work, I intend to progress to a high level of astute judgment that will enable me to provide accurate patient treatment.
The innovative contemporary program offered by Newcastle University will allow me to change the view of dental treatment in the K.S.A. Newcastle University can be judged by looking at the research done and published by
the department of operative dentistry and as I wish to specialize in Operative dentistry, the university has got an excellent track record in this and nearly caters to all my needs. The focus would be a more comprehensive treatment such as smile planning using projected photos, drawings, or visual diagrams. A number of my past patients were actors and singers who desired great outward appearance to gain confidence in their social interactions. Specifically, one patient was an actor who came to me to change his smile and appearance, but had to be referred to a private clinic since my practice did not offer any comprehensive treatment.
My goal is to establish an innovative operative dental practice in my country.
