discuss the anatomy and physiology of your activity.

You should conduct research on the topic of discussion and use this research to support your answers. You should use credible and reliable sources such as Internet articles, journals, text books, etc. In fact, I strongly recommend that you utilize the APUS Online Library for your research as they offer a plethora of reliable and pertinent research sources. You may access the Online Library by clicking on the “APUS Library” link on the menu bar to the left inside the electronic classroom.

Topic: Musculoskeletal Workout

As we learn about the musculoskeletal system this week, I would like for each of you step back from the computer for a bit, get active, and try something new. Try a new class (ex. yoga, salsa dancing, kickboxing, spinning) or new activity and tell us about it.

NOTE: Be safe and pick an activity within your physical limitations. For those of you with medical or physical restrictions, you can describe activities you currently perform within your acceptable range of activity (ex. physical therapy) or activities you used to perform or would like to try in the future.

First, tell us about the activity you selected. Why did you choose this workout/event? What are things you liked about it? What are things you did not like? If you were to continue this class/event what are goals you hope this activity would help you to achieve? Would you recommend this workout to anyone?

Next, discuss the anatomy and physiology of your activity. What specific muscles/areas of the body did this activity focus on? Is the activity considered aerobic exercise? Were your muscle fibers using aerobic or anaerobic cellular metabolism? Was it a mixture? Were the muscle contractions mostly isometric or isotonic? Please be sure to explain your answers. If your activity included different movements (ex. circuit training with lifting and running), pick a specific example for this part of the discussion.

Get out of your comfort zone and share your experience with us. Research the activity (using credible sources) and share your findings with your classmates. Hopefully this will be fun, and allow us to learn a bit more about the muscular and skeletal systems with a new workout/twist.

The Science of Learning Instructions

Whether you are pursuing your education, career, or personal improvement, it is imperative that you have a firm understanding of your approach to learning. To do this, you will complete two different assessments that focus on different learning profiles. First, you will explore your personality profile by completing a Myers-Briggs assessment. If you have taken one previously, it is required that you complete it again during this assignment in order to ensure that your personality approach has not evolved.

Second, you will complete the VARK assessment, which is an updated approach to the traditional learning styles. VARK is an acronym which stands for visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic. As you complete the assessment, select ALL of the appropriate responses per question.

Answer the questions using the template below. Then, submit this document with your responses to Blackboard. (Syllabus MLO: C, F and Module 3 LOs: 4, 5, 6)

Respond to each section with a minimum of 3 sentences per question. NOTE: All questions below are required.

SECTION 1: Complete the Personality Assessment by going to www.16personalities.com. Once you have the results, answer the questions below. (NOTE: This test is free. Any paid aspect of the assessment is optional.)

  • Read through the section about Strengths and Weaknesses. Identify one strength and one weakness that relates to how you approach learning or your assignments.
  • Read through the section about Careers. What do you most resonate with? What do you think they got wrong when describing you? Does it align with your current career trajectory?
  • Read through the section about Workplace Habits. While this is written for workplace habits, there is often correlation with our learning experience. What are some areas in this section that help you better understand how to approach learning?
